Personalization

Nordic Lockheed L-188 Electra airplane model. Lockheed's L-188 Electra design commenced in 1954, and the subsequent year, American Airlines placed an initial order. The prototype took flight on December 6, 1957. The aircraft typically seated 66 to 80 passengers, with an optional high-density configuration for 98. Production ceased after 170 units due to a decline in passenger confidence following two in-flight disintegrations. By the time fixes were implemented, airlines favored turbojets over turboprops. In the early 1990s, around half of the fleet was still operational, many modified by Lockheed Aircraft Service for mixed or solely cargo use. The L-188A model featured four Allison 501D-13 or 501D-13A turboprops, with an option for four 501D-15s, enabling a top cruising speed of 405 mph, a 28,400-foot service ceiling, and a 2,200-mile range.

Mahogany Wood. Scale: 1/72. Wingspan 16 1/2 inches, Length 17 1/2 inches.
