
Gulfstream V G-V
Item Number: 2302Grumman Gulfstream V 500 airplane model. In 1989, Gulfstream Aerospace started exploring a longer ultra-long range corporate transport based on the Gulfstream IV at the annual NBAA convention. Three years later, at the 1992 Farnborough Airshow, the program was officially launched. After its first flight on November 28, 1995, the G-V was set to be certified and delivered by late 1996. By December 1996, provisional FAA certification was received, and full certification was granted in April 1997. The first customer received their G-V on July 1st of the same year. While still based on the G-IV, the G-V boasts major design changes, including a 2.49m (8ft 2in) longer fuselage.
