Grumman A-6 Intruder

The Grumman A-6 Intruder airplane model represents the A-6A, which first engaged in combat in March 1965 in Vietnam from the USS Independence. Subsequently, various models of the Intruder played a significant role in the conflicts in Southeast Asia. On February 27, 1970, Grumman introduced the A-6E, a sophisticated enhancement of the A-6A. Equipped with two Pratt & Whitney J52-P-8B turbojets, each providing 9,300 pounds of thrust, the A-6E boasted a top speed of 644 mph, a service ceiling of 42,400 feet, a range of 1,011 miles, and could carry up to 18,000 pounds of armaments. By the end of 1990, when production ceased, over 660 of these costly yet adaptable aircraft had been produced, including around 360 A-6Es, with 120 newly built and 240 converted from A-6As, for the US Navy and Marine Corps.

This model is crafted from mahogany wood at a 1/32 scale, with a wingspan and length of 16 inches each. No brass plate on model (separate purchase).
