ATR-42 American Eagle airplane model. -Under the French Groupement d'Intérêt Économique, Aérospatiale and Aeritalia (now known as Alenia) joined forces to produce a line of regional aircraft. In October 1981, the ATR-42 was unveiled as the inaugural plane from this partnership.
