P-6E Hawk airplane model. The P-6E, a premier pursuit aircraft of the early 1930s, marked the end of the fighter biplane era with its mass production for the Army Air Corps. Initially known as the Y1P-22, it was reclassified as the P-6E due to its resemblance to other aircraft in the P-6 series. Though it never saw combat, it is celebrated as one of the most aesthetically pleasing biplanes ever constructed. However, due to the economic constraints of the Great Depression, only 46 P-6Es were commissioned, reflecting the limited funding available to the Air Corps.
Mahogany Wood. Scale 1/20. Wingspan 17 inches, Length 12 1/2 inches.
