Personalization

North American P-51 Voodoo airplane model. Since 1989 this P-51 has been on the ramp at Reno at nearly every air racing event. She first raced as Pegasus by owner/pilot- Bill Spear until 1994. She was then purchased by Bob Button and "Hurricane" Bob Hannah became the race pilot. The new team first raced at the 1995 Phoenix 500 event and the racer was now purple &amp, white with a new name, Voodoo Chile (taken from the Jimmy Hendrix recording). She qualified 4th fastest at 410+ mph. but had to pull out in lap 2 of the final Gold Race with mechanical problems. Since then, the racer has gone through a host of modifications, dropped one of the 5's in her race number and shortened her name to Voodoo.
