Boeing 727 United
Item Number: 9066United Airlines 727 airplane model. The 727-200's first flight occurred on July 27, 1967, and it was certified in late November of that year. Launch customer Northeast Airlines (later acquired by Delta) began operating the -200 the following month, with over 500 727 orders already placed. Despite its limited range due to the same fuel capacity as the 727-100, the 727-200 was a huge sales success and even prompted the development of the Advanced 727-200 with increased range capabilities. This model, first flown in March 1972, featured changes such as a larger fuel capacity, more powerful engines, and a quieter and stronger structure. The Advanced model remained the primary production model until 1984.
