Personalization

A-7 Corsair airplane model. The Ling-Temco-Vought A-7 Corsair II, a carrier-based subsonic light attack aircraft, was introduced to replace the A-4 Skyhawk in the US Naval service. It was based on the successful supersonic F-8 Crusader, also produced by Chance Vought. The A-7 was among the first combat aircraft to incorporate a head-up display (HUD), a doppler-bounded inertial navigation system (INS), and a turbofan engine. It first saw service with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War before being adopted by the United States Air Force to replace their A-1 Skyraiders, which had been borrowed from the Navy, and by the Air National Guard. The aircraft was also exported to Greece in the 1970s, and later to Portugal and Thailand in the late 1980s.

Mahogany wood. Scale: 1/32. Wingspan 14 inches, Length 17 inches.
