Fokker C-31 US Army

C-31 US Army airplane model. The Fokker C-31A is a militarized version of the F27 Friendship airliner developed in the mid-1950s.  The first F27 flew in November 1955 with the type entering airline service by 1958.  Several different versions of the aircraft were developed for both military and civil use.  The F27 remained in production until 1987 by which time a total of 592 aircraft had been built by Fokker in the Netherlands and by Fairchild in the United States. 

The C-31A is the U.S. Army designation for the F27-400M version of the aircraft which was designed as a combination cargo and passenger aircraft.  Only two C-31As were purchased by the Army with both being used by the Army’s Golden Knights Parachute Demonstration Team at airshows around the country.
