de Havilland DH114 Heron airplane model. British manufacturer de Havilland is well known for many commercial aircraft developments, especially after the Second World War. It developed the Comet, of course, as the first commercial jet aircraft in the world. But it also produced a range of smaller propeller aircraft at that time. The DH.114 Heron was an early four-engine passenger aircraft, developed to meet tough operating conditions mainly in overseas markets. de Havilland built 149 aircraft between 1950 and 1959, with only one remaining in flying condition today.
