RO-6 ARL Army DHC-8 airplane model. The Airborne Reconnaissance Low-Enhanced (ARL-E), also known as RO-6A, represents the cutting edge in the Army's manned, multi-sensor, all-conditions AISR capabilities. The ARL-E is a modified DHC-8-Q315 aircraft, outfitted with adaptable payloads and advanced COMINT and IMINT sensors. This includes both long and short-range Ground and Dismounted Moving Target Indicators, as well as Synthetic Aperture Radar (GMTI/DMTI/SAR), high-definition Electro-Optical/Infrared Full Motion Video, and Hyperspectral Imagery. These sensors are managed via the onboard Distributed Common Ground Station-Army (DCGS-A) workstations. The ARL-E's intelligence-gathering prowess allows for real-time analysis and dissemination, Beyond Line of Sight satellite communications, or onboard storage for later review.
