C-121 Columbine
Item Number: 328Lockheed C-121 airplane model. Columbine III served as the Presidential aircraft until President Eisenhower left office in January 1961. It remained in service transporting government officials and visiting foreign dignitaries throughout the world until it was retired.
The Lockheed Constellation, affectionately called Connie, was a four-engine propeller-driven airliner that has been used both in civilian and military service. Military versions were employed by the US Army Air Forces/Air Force, the US Navy and other air forces worldwide. Built from 1943 to 1958, a total of 856 aircraft were produced in four models, all featuring a distinctive triple-tail design and a graceful dolphin-shaped fuselage.
