PBJ (B-25) USMC

North American PBJ USMC airplane model. During World War II, the U.S. Navy (USN) acquired 706 North American Aviation (NAA) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers from the U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF). These aircraft, designated PBJ by the USN, equipped a total of sixteen U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) bombing squadrons during the war, eight of which served in the Pacific.
