United Airlines Boeing 757 airplane model. The first flight of a Boeing 757 took place in February 1982. Using the same fuselage cross-section as the Boeing 727, but with a length 19 ft. 7 in. greater, the Boeing 757 is a short/medium range airliner with a maximum high-density seating arrangement for 224 passengers. The Boeing 757 is one of the world's most economical turbofan-powered airliners in the short/medium range category, showing a fuel saving of 45 per cent per passenger by comparison with earlier medium-range aircraft.
